Hanzalah b. Tha'labah b. Sayyar al-'Ijli was a poet through whom victory was attained at the battle of Dhi Qar and was the last Rosh Ma'amad of the Lakhmids before the time of Abu Bakr who is said to have become a Sabi. He was confused with many other people until the time of Abbasids when the origin story was discovered to have been a myth and was thrown out.
