Etel-Köz was the Moldavian land of the Ugrian Közari which was ruled by the Bulanids. It was established by the Akötziri who remained there after Csaba the Hun left for the Ukraine. It fell under the rule of Edemen's Avars in the 6th century and then Kubrat's Kubiars in the 7th century before gaining independence in the 8th century when it's rulers converted to Judaism. They entered into an alliance with the Hungarians in the 9th century to liberate many Szekeleys who had migrated westward (leaving Közari graves in Chelarevo and other Közari traces in Crisana and Transylvania) and fallen under the rule of Moravia. It survived until it was eventually abandoned in the 11th century leaving behind only a tiny remnant of Ugrians known as the Csangos.
