Hanzalah was a poet through whom victory was attained at the battle of Dhi Qar and is probably the ma'amad who is said to have become a Sabi. He was confused with Hani' ibn Qabisa and many others until the time of Abbasids when the origin story was discovered to have been a myth and was thrown out.
